Zimbabwe seeks support from TCDD on railway development

Zimbabwe is seeking international partnerships and opportunities to develop its under-utilized railway network.

On November 18, a delegation from Turkish State Railways TCDD and officials of TURASAŞ and TCDD TEKNİK A.S, Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Ankara Alfred Mutiwazuka and Zimbabwe delegation headed by National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) Chairman Martin Tafara Dinda met in Ankara under the chairmanship of TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun.

At the meeting, possible collaborations between TCDD and NRZ, training opportunities and experience sharing issues came up. In a short briefing given by Dinda on the railway infrastructure in Zimbabwe, he stated that they needed TCDD’s support and experience in the field of railways.

General Director Ali Ihsan expressed TCDD’s readiness to support Zimbabwe on all areas of railway development.
