TMH delivers 3rd batch of passenger coaches to Egypt

Transmashholding (TMH) delivered its third batch of 13 rail passenger coaches to the Egyptian National Railways (ENR) on August 25. The coaches were received at the Alexandria port in the presence of the Minister of Transport Kamel al-Wazir. This follows the delivery of 10 coaches on July 11.

ENR has so far received 46 third-class passenger coaches with forced (dynamic) ventilation, with another 22 coaches set to arrive next week. The contract stipulates a delivery rate of 35 coaches per month.

Under the contract, all passenger coaches should be delivered within 5 years from the date of contract signing.

A total of 1,300 passenger coaches of five different types will be supplied under a more than €1bn contract signed in 2018. Out of these coaches, 500 third-class coaches use forced ventilation, while 800 coaches are air-conditioned: 500 third-class, 180 second-class, 90 first-class and 30 second-class buffet coaches.
