In terms of rolling stock, CAF has a wide range of rolling stock in the market. CAF designs, manufactures and maintains all types of rail vehicles including high-speed trains, regional and commuter trains, metro trains, trams, LRVs and locomotives. The rail vehicles are equipped with the latest technologies in terms of safety, performance and ride comfort. The company’s range of rolling stock solutions includes:

The company has earned recognition from various railway administrations in Africa including Mauritius, Algeria, Morocco and Egypt.
In Mauritius, CAF was contracted for the turnkey construction of the 26-km Mauritius Metro Express, the first and only urban rail system in the island country. In the contract, CAF supplied 18 bi-directional 100% low-floor Urbos trams comprising 7 modules each, signalling system, automatic vehicle location system (AVLS), transit signal priority system (TSPS), depot equipment, and a driving simulator.
In Algeria, CAF’s milestone is the turnkey project for the design and construction of the first metro line in Algiers linking Haï el Badr and Tafourah Grande Poste. The project’s scope encompassed the infrastructure, signalling, electrification, and supply of rolling stock and workshop equipment. The company also provided rolling stock maintenance services and supply of auxiliary vehicles. Fourteen six-car metro trains were supplied in this project.
Other customers include SNTF, Algeria’s national railway operator, which operates regional diesel trains supplied by CAF.
Morocco’s national railway operator ONCF contracted CAF for the supply of a remote control system of substations and sectioning stations for the entire electrified railway network of Morocco. CAF SIGNALLING has also supplied signalling systems to ONCF as part of the renovation and modernisation of Morocco’s railway infrastructure.
CAF’s projects in Egypt include, among others, the supply of a Centralised Traffic Control Centre and signalling and telecommunications system for several railway lines operated by the Egypt National Railways (ENR). The company has also supplied SCADA systems for the energy control of several railway stations in Cairo.
